When your business grows or even relocates and the need for formal infrastructure setup is required, the search for quality and affordable solutions can be daunting. That’s where ARC Technology comes in, providing voice and internet consulting, products and support to businesses across South Africa.

What makes ARC Technology unique is a combined 20+ years of industry experience for a team with diverse skills, all seeking to offer the best telecommunications and internet solutions that do not break the bank. That’s why ARC Technology offers short term contracts, month-to-month contracts and complete transparency. A breath of fresh air when compared to the 5-year contracts touted by the industry stalwarts. This is possible thanks to carefully cultivated relationships with the industry leaders in fibre and wireless connectivity deployment, enabling us to provide end-to-end bespoke voice and data solutions.

We recently installed a cloud PBX and internet solution (fibre, with an LTE failover) for a paint business when they moved to a new premises. Moving their business from one location to another is quite a big task, thankfully they didn’t need to worry about their internet and telephony as we took care of it. They were able to retain their advertised business telephone number, which had previously been with Telkom and therefore geographically bound, and customers were able to get hold of them uninterrupted during the move.

Wondering how we work?

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of each phase that you will experience when working with ARC Technology:

1. CONSULTATION

We can meet with a client either face-to-face, via an online meeting, or even telephonically. During this consultation meeting, we ask the client questions and get to understand a bit about their business and their needs.

2. PROPOSAL

With enough information gathered, we put together a proposal and quotation for the client. We would either give this to the client in person or send it via email and then discuss it over an online meeting or telephone call to ensure they understand it. This proposal will also explain the process and timeline of the installation/s.

3. DOCUMENTATION

The client then has time to respond with changes, and if they are ready to go ahead we proceed with the paperwork required. This is normally a subscriber agreement (capturing the client details for our system), porting documentation (allowing the client to “port-in” their geographic advertised number to our platform so that they can continue using the same number), and some vetting documentation such as company registration documents.

4. INSTALLATION

Turn-around times vary depending on what is being installed.

  • For a telephone system, the installation time is normally no longer than 10 working days, which is the maximum time taken to port a number from one provider with another, assuming that the client’s account/s with the existing provider are up to date and there are no problems with the porting process.
  • If fibre is involved, FttB (Fibre to the Business) can take up to  6 months to install, depending on the provider, the distance from closest fibre point to client and the need for council or wayleave approvals before civil works can start. If the client requires a quick installation, but the fibre is going to take a while, we may be able to install a wireless or LTE interim solution until the client’s fibre installation is complete.
